The tree is decked. The tunes are on. The mistletoe is hung. And the table is set! And the last minute, your guest list grows. The more the merrier but you're out of place settings!

I've got savvy tips on how to use what's already in your cabinets and collections to dress their new spot without running out to break the bank on your additional guests.

Mix & Match

I layered my everyday black and pink IKEA plates with  for some contrast while warming the place setting with the silverware wrapped in a burgundy napkin from Pier 1 Imports ($.38 each, thank you very much!) I love the contrast of the pink and Burgundy together.

i had recently picked up a couple of these vintage green glasses when i stopped into lovegood & co in St. Paul; mixing these with commodity of the ikea plates adds an element of character. and better yet when you have a story to share  behind some of your vintage items, around the table.

Make A Statement

can you believe These gorgeous glacier bay stone napkin rings were under $5 each from pier 1 imports? it's just a touch of glam but still natural enough to blend with the everyday tableware.

And what's not to love about the statement of art ( Like these from suzy lindow of wink wink studio ) for your guest to eyeball while they're shoving their face. not only do they help tie the color story together across the space but you could also use these as guest gifts. (Yes, please)

Top It With Texture

can't make it out for fresh greenery? scratch the centerpiece and stick with a decorative garland to ground the table, if you're luckye enough, cut some pine from your yard or (do like i did and) snip it from your indoor plants to tuck into the napkin for just a 'spruce' of greenery.

soften the space with a faux fur rug or faux fur chair covers to add an element of cozy; if the wine isn't enough.

and don't forget... enjoy the company.

Happy holidays!
